![]() I've seen some say they can't return it and throw it out. Also, a lot of those reviews are so unreliable. I've had bed bugs before and I've seen some of the pictures they post as "evidence" and it's usually been black flakes. But when you sit on it it goes into place and has never been an issue.Īnd as for the bed bug reviews take those with a grain of salt. And both frames have unevenness in the bottom middle, where it lifts a little. IMHO the 18 inch height frame was better just because the 14 inch height one couldn't hold taller storage boxes underneath. I only swapped because the person who got it is shorter than I am and had problems getting into a bed that high. It's very sturdy, no squeaking, and this one wasn't as hard to put together as the other. A few months ago I swapped frames and now have this Zinus frame in 18 inch height, and again full size. I'm sure the queen would accommodate for much more weight. I was around 260-270 when I got it and it could hold way more weight imho. It was difficult to tighten the screws in by myself. I got this Zinus frame last year in a 14 inch height full size. It took me considerably longer to build than I expected, just due to the large size and the amount of plywood that it needs, but it turned out great and I would happily build a second kit.įeel free to ask any questions and I'm happy to answer them I really couldn't be happier with the kit. ![]() When you go to close it, you just lift it up slightly and it will basically close itself thanks to the gas struts (although you will want to hold it just to prevent it from slamming, but there are rubber stops so it's harmless if it did). We use it as a guest bed but I slept on it to test it out and you'd never know that you weren't on a normal bed - if you follow the kit instructions, the bed has zero "bounce" to it and sits properly on the floor. When you grab the handles on the front and pull down there is initially some resistance - it's clear that the bed would NEVER "fall over" unexpectedly - and then it just gracefully glides down to the floor. I built built-in shelves around the unit on the wall ( erm, honey, I'm almost done building them. Moving the completed bed unit was no easy task, either, as it's basically made of like 6 pieces of heavy plywood and weighs a ton. It was a big project but didn't have any major surprises making sure that the plywood face pieces were cut perfectly square and the edges perfectly straight was honestly the hardest part (since they are so large). Yes, I built a vertical murphy bed last fall using the Create-A-Bed Deluxe Vertical Queen bed kit (this exact item on Amazon) which I believe is identical to what Rockler sells as the "frameless" murphy bed kit. ![]()
